Dear Applicant,
On behalf of the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County, we are pleased to welcome you to the application process for the 2024 allocations and grants cycle. We have made some exciting changes to the process this year.
First, we have established a Charter Statement that we believe succinctly and accurately describes what we are looking to achieve with our philanthropic efforts:
Guided by the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, our Federation Allocations & Grants Committee harnesses donors’ collective contributions to support programs that address challenges facing our local community as well as in Israel and around the globe. Research and due diligence enable this volunteer-driven grant process to align funds with priorities shared by the Jewish community to ensure that grantees and everyone that they help, continue to thrive.
You will notice a few salient points. We are reaffirming our intent to focus on funding programs and initiatives rather than normal operating expenses. We wish those programs to focus on challenges in our communities. In that spirit, we are opening up the allocations and grants process to new applicants, as we advised in our 2023 application process, in order to ensure that we remain in tune with the evolving priorities of our donors and other stakeholders, and with the priorities of the communities you serve.
Please note:
For the 2024 Allocations & Grants process, there are two distinct applications available:
Regular Funding:
New applicants may apply for a program allocation of $3,600 or 15% of the program’s budget. For returning applicants, the grant size is unrestricted but is subject to the same cap of 15% of the program’s budget.
Micro-Grant Funding:
This is an exciting development for 2024. New and returning applicants may apply for a micro-grant of $1,800, which requires a simplified application.
If you would like further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us at allocations@shalomct.org and we’ll be happy to discuss with you. We look forward to an enriching and productive Allocations & Grants experience.

2024 Allocations & Grants Committee
